Homemade Mac and Cheese Casserole

Deliciously creamy homemade mac and cheese casserole with turkey bacon for a delightful twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, combine the milk, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese over medium heat. Stir until the cheese is melted and smooth.
  4. Add the cooked macaroni and crumbled turkey bacon to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.
  5. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
