  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Once risen, punch the dough down and divide it into 8 pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into a bagel and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  7. Boil water in a large pot and add the bagels, boiling each for 1 minute. Remove and add toppings before baking.
  8. Bake the bagels for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
