Healing Chicken Soup

A warm and soothing chicken soup recipe to comfort and heal.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup noodles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in a large pot and cover with water.
  2. Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for about 1 hour.
  4. Remove chicken, shred meat, and return to the pot.
  5. If using, add noodles and cook until tender.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a bay leaf while simmering.
  • Can be made with leftover chicken.
