French Onion Meatloaf

Experience a delicious twist on traditional meatloaf with this French Onion Meatloaf featuring turkey bacon!

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onions until translucent and golden brown.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, cooked bacon, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, ketchup, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add grated cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  • This meatloaf pairs well with mashed potatoes and green beans.
