A delicious twist on traditional Bolognese sauce using turkey bacon for a leaner option.

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  2. In the same skillet, add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain.
  6. Serve the sauce over spaghetti and top with chopped turkey bacon.

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils.
