Classic Patty Melt Recipe

A delicious twist on the classic patty melt, featuring turkey bacon for an indulgent yet comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy, then set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Form the ground beef into patties and cook in the skillet to desired doneness.
  4. Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches: on the mustard side, layer a slice of Swiss cheese, a beef patty, turkey bacon, sautéed onions, and another slice of cheese.
  6. Top with another slice of rye bread, mustard side down.
  7. Butter the outside of the sandwiches and grill each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add pickles or aioli to the sandwich.
